I changed a lot of parts over the years. About 10 years ago I decided to
restore it and started looking for original parts and could not find the
Schwinn branded rear derailleur anywhere and ended up buying a 2nd 73
Paramount, that had all the original parts that mine was missing, but had
Suntour Superbe brakes, a too small diameter seatpost and junk saddle. The
bike was evidently not ridden much. The crank, pedals, chain, derailleurs
and freewheel are almost pristine. They make my original crank and pedals
look awful. I still have the original very well broken in, small
copper rivet Brooks Professional saddle, also looking pretty sad. After 3
or 4 years, that saddle was so comfortable once my rear conformed to it!
