I mounted my front fender using a daruma bolt trying to gain as much clearance
as possible. The outside arm of the tectro brake interfered with the ridge
profile of the fender. I attempted to peen some clearance but to get enough I
messed up the profile of the fender. After buying a replacement I went to a
Paul racer brake on the front and that gave me the clearance I needed.
In the closed position I could have made the tectro work it was the released
position that gave me problems. Trying to gain clearance in the open position
led to the fender screw up. I had no problems with the tectro on the rear.
I'm comfortable with the tire clearance I have but I ride roads all the time.
If I were doing a lot of trail I would set up differently.

Disclosure: < 12 fender installs.
