2. Saris Freedom 2 or 4. This is the only rack I've found which can securely hold my bikes and not damage the fenders. It also fits our 60cm Cheviot. I've taken this rack and my Rivs on multiple cross country trips and never worry about the bikes.
3. I currently have Soma C-lines, 38c, on the Chev which gives plenty of fender clearance but have also run Marathon Supremes, 42c, without an issue. I have 44c Soma Shikoros on my Sam Hillborne with fenders but there is very little clearance between the tire and fender.
