I don't know what the fee is on Southwest, but I think Rinko usually puts the bike in a soft case, which would seem pretty risky. Often times an LBS will have a hard case that they may rent to you. Or they could box it for you or sell a regular cardboard bike box. Or since it's domestic, the cheapest option may be to box and ship to an LBS via BikeFlights. I'm guessing that would be cheaper than airline fees.
