There are lots of options in 35-40 mm; the OP (David) already has one bike with those.
I picked up a pair of Nokian Suomi Hakkapeliitta W240 622-40 tires recently; my girlfriend will try them on a Specialized Tricross. I use studded Dillinger 5's on my fat bike for ultimate traction. I'm mounting them up tonight. I'm glad to hear that the 650b A10s are working out for you, Zed. The only other 650b studded tire I know of is the 584-57 Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro <https://www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/off-road_tires/ice_spiker_pro>, a very aggressive off-road tire. Looks like a winner for unplowed paths though.
