I also supported the Hexlox kickstarter and ordered the saddle protection
package. Thanks to Patrick Kelly and Will for posting these two
interesting new security devices. I have VO security skewers on my
Bleriot, but it's rather laughably easy for anyone to get hold of the
security hex wrenches to defeat those (as another poster has shown us).
With all due respect to the Pitlock pitstopper product, it can also
apparently be defeated with a common bolt. I don't assume that bike
thieves are stupid or ignorant. I like the idea of a coded key for the
hexlox. The main downside I can see with the hexlox is that those things
must be awfully small and it seems like it would be very easy to loose
them. I realize that they are magnetic. I hope that the company launch is
successful and that the product becomes available in the US without having
to be shipped from GB. If I like the initial samples, I may order the
skewers. Cheers,
Steve
