John: I've used the Marathon Supremes for several years in both 35 & 40 mm size in thousands of miles of touring. I hate flats, and they exceed their reputation for durability. The best case was 11,000 miles on a front with zero flats (knock wood; probably lotsa luck there). Typically only 1 or 2 flats in the life of a tire, and usually at least 6,000 miles on a rear.
No experience with either of Riv offerings but I did have the chance to ride some supple 38 mm tires that sold me on a set of Soma C-lines (another variation from Panaracer) when they came out. The difference in ride & comfort was a pleasant surprise. Flats did increase, and the rear wore out in about half the time of a Marathon Supreme. Were I commuting to work, and needing to show up on time & presentably clean, I'd go with the Schwalbes. As to the ride quality, well, I never thought they were rough until I tried something lighter. Now they feel "just OK". dougP On Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:32:56 AM UTC-7, john wrote: > > I'm a big fan of the Jack Brown Greens!
