i tend to agree that dropping 2k on a complete bike and relying heavily on 
a salesperson to understand what you want, understand what is out there and 
then find something similar that that shop sells, make a good decision for 
you etc. is maybe not the best approach. would she not be better served in 
doing some research and finding a bike/frame that she could get excited 
about based on her priorities?  a lot of good bikes have been mentioned, 
but i feel like any purchase of that amount is only truly a win win 
situation when you, yourself, are pretty clear about what it is that you 
want to buy into and why.
