I didn't like the grayish fabric all that well in the knickers I ued to have, 
so I passed them along to another rider. I have 2 pr of the original butternut 
and agree that they are lighter. Here in AL, it is warm most of the year and 
lighter is better. Less billowy would be nicer, but black undershorts keeps 
things decent in case of head winds. Riding with anything in the front pockets 
is a drag though, as the filled pockets hang down beneath the hem of the 
shorts. Perhaps the heavier fabric prevents this.

The Boosuckers are less billowy, and more comfortable, but the bottom line is 
that I like both types that I have.
