I rode my blue Ram today over a course that included a fair bit of coarse pavement. I put a HOW made wheelset on that uses Velocity Aeroheat rims on Paul hubs. It's really a cyclocross set up, but works great. The rims are a bit wider than standard road rims and 1 1/2" tires work very well on them. The smallest tire I've tried or would try is 32 mm, but bigger is better. Very nice ride, btw.
