It would be nice to have a Riv dealer close by, so I would be confident they were handling Rivish repairs competently, instead of bringing a 650b wheel to a 700c dealer and wondering are they overtightening the spokes when truing, etc. Not that a 700c dealer couldn't do it right. But I don't know if it takes any particular experience or not since most stuff these days is carbo700c.

We used to -- no idea why they stopped -- but they were totally not into 650B. As for 650B wheel experience: tightening a spoke is tightening a spoke. It's no different for any of the various 26" sizes than it is for 24" or 27". However, if your entire body of experience is with low spoke count aero wheels, you might not have a clue how to deal with a hand-built wheel: after all, who is the manufacturer you're supposed to ship it back to for repair?
