The BioRad MicroSeal "B" films have been great as chain slap guards because 
they're thick and the adhesive is extremely strong and rated for any 
temperature you might be superhuman enough to bike in. They are polyester.

I use thinner films for other areas of the frame. Those are from VWR (not 
sure of the cat# or material).
