I have trouble with my Chacos, too, but for a different reason: the soles are so much thicker than my other shoes that my pedal stroke is affected. I'm too lazy to raise and then lower my saddle 1/4" every time. They're still my go-to choice on warm rainy days, though, much easier than trying to keep sneakers or dress shoes dry.
