Steger and I do not get along. I destroyed their "heartiest" mukluks in a matter of 10 winter camping days, with the leather rotting and becoming dry and brittle and the laces snapping highs of 30's, lows of -30's. They eventually made right, but it took some doing.
The plan for winter this year is boiled wool socks and minimalist shoes combined with my ventile gators.
