BIG fan of the purple. One of my favorite bikes was an early 90s Specialized S-Works steel MTB that was silvery purple. The bike rode and looked incredible, unfortunately it's the only bike I have rendered unridable by crashing it. It took a very hard impact on a fallen tree and bent both top and downtubes with creases. It could have been repaired by a third party, but Specialized would only do crash replacement. By that time the steel frames were gone and replaced by M2 Aluminum. I ended up meeting Keith Bontrager at the Bio Show in Vegas and picked up a Race Lite. Not a bad move.
