For what it's worth, Matt, I had two knee surgeries, one on each knee, for condramylagia (sp?) when I was 12 and 17 (yes, something is wrong with both shoes and our medical system when a 12 year old has a lack of knee cartilage). I have no issues with my knees so far and am running stronger since I began playing with single speed. I am sure the slow weighted squats I do several times a week also play a role.
