I've used Goop or some of the other hand cleaners to lift out grease. It does tend to leave a bit of an effect upon the fabric, so all the usual disclaimers about "test in an non-obvious spot" apply. There's also a product called "White Wizard" which removes all sorts of stains. If you really go at the fabric with soaps, you can strip out some of the "oiliness" as well. I used the Filson wax for their tin cloth products on my Country bag. I'm just about to give my old Banana Bag a good scrubbing, and figure it's time for a full retreat on that when I do so. I usually treat the fabric following the directions (i.e. using a hair dryer to melt it through the fabric), then treat the leather bits afterward. - Jim -- Jim Edgar cyclofi...@earthlink.net Current Classics Bicycle Photo Gallery - http://www.cyclofiend.com/cc Cross Bike Photo Gallery - http://www.cyclofiend.com/cx Single Speed Garage Photo Gallery - http://www.cyclofiend.com/ssg Working Bikes & Practical Hardware - http://www.cyclofiend.com/working Work Shops of the iBob's - http://www.cyclofiend.com/shop Send In Your Photos! - Here's how: http://www.cyclofiend.com/guidelines "That which is overdesigned, too highly specific, anticipates outcome; the anticipation of outcome guarantees, if not failure, the absence of grace."
