They have significantly more support than other products such as Keen (the insole molds to your foot but great arch support), and they clean up easily (I throw them in the dishwasher . . .). The soles grip like hell, but aren't too rigid or too sandal-floppy. I discovered that the toe protection is an important thing the hard way with another sandal product.
