I'd probably take a confirmed straight edge and lay it on the top of the top
tube. That might tell you if there was any bending in the tube. Might be so
slight as to not register.

I'd also take a very good look below the downtube lug.  The front end
impacts I've seen generally affect both areas.

As Bill mentioned, check the fork as well.
