One time i was stopped at an intersection and when i started to pedal through, something grabbed the rear honjo fender stay enough to pull the fender towards the tire. The tire grabbed the rear fender and folded it up underneath itself, jamming the tire and bringing me to an immediate stop in the middle of the intersection. I had to literally drag the bike back to the shoulder. I had to rip the back half of the fender off to free the wheel so i could ride home.
That was it for honjo fenders for me.
