I can understand where tapping a headtube could be tedious and
possibly invite the big "Uh-Oh!"

If the badge wasn't so purty, I doubt I would be inclined to inspect
it so well.  Most of my concern was about the integrity of the bond
and the possibility of noticing the badge's disappearance well after
the fact.  Since nobody has had that experience, I'll worry about more
important things.

As for the accumulation of matter in that gap, I'll just remind myself
to turn my head to the side if I ever think I'm about to lose my
oatmeal on a big climb.
