Is this a problem with the mid-fork braze-on? I had no problem installing my
nitto front rack using the typical configuration and a p-clamp mid fork that
was placed with mind to keeping the top of the rack level. I have an older
model atlantis without said braze-ons.
It seems that certain racks might not fit best with a given braze-on
configuration, and this is part of the reason why Grant initially resisted
using them on the atlantis even though it is a touring bike.

Perhaps using p clamps like was necessary beforehand would allow you to
adjust the camber of the rack such that installation would avoid your brakes
in addition to leveling the rack?

Cheers,

erik
