If you are running that many boxes you might want to look at creating
event based versions of your custom plugins and running the async server
(Brad and Matt can evangelize that more than I).
We were running upwards of 50 servers at my work that processed incoming
mail, and I made a strong push for running qpsmtpd async there which
unfortunately wasn't adopted for non-technical reasons :(
