I just went through this the other weekend so here's what you need to do.

1. Remove the sendmail rpm with --force (don't worry everything seems to
work after you put qmail on)
2. Install the qmail RPM's

The above worked for me....
Or I suppose you could just install the Qmail rpm's with the --force, but I
never tried that...
