Sorry�, from what I know, rpm -e --force *.rpm don't work on a rh52 
system.

Stephen has to uninstall the dependant things (+xmh) before 
sendmail, at least this is how I do it. Then you should rebuild the 
source *.rpm's you need like: 

rpm -ivvh *.src.rpm
rpm -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/*.spec
rpm -Uvvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/*.rpm

Personally I don't use any of the mentioned softwares (exept 
qmail:)), at the console I use "pine", that's all. But I may switch to 
"mutt".
