No - as there's nothing in the RFCs saying pre-MIME mail couldn't be expected to contain such chars. That's why Q-S FAQ state:

"That internal function in Qmail-Scanner blocks any MIME e-mail message that contains either NULL characters ("\0") or CR chars ("\r") in the headers."

see the "MIME" bit? :-)

Can you forward to me as an attachment an example of such a message - so that I can inject it through my system to see what you see
