Thank you very much. I tried your first solution and it didn't work, but
afterwards I read the pieces of advice of the link you sent me
http://www.pymolwiki.org/index.php/Hash_max , I modified the hash to the
minimum, and it worked perfectly. The unique problem is that the computer was
almost melted by the high temperature that achieved ;), but now I have my image
perfectly done.

No problem. I recently ran into the same problem assuming that it is a memory
issue.

make a file (let's call it 'picture.py') and place the following in the file
######
cmd.ray
png ('/Users/benjamin/Desktop/my_image.png')
######
or this if you need to ray at 1024,768 or change the numbers to whatever you
need
######
cmd.ray(1024,768)
png ('/Users/benjamin/Desktop/my_image.png')
######
Once you make the file. Launch pymol. Setup your scene as you want it.
Then type in the command line:
run '/path/to/script/'picture.py
Where '/path/to/script/' is something like:
/Users/benjamin/Desktop/picture.py
This will ray trace your scene and save a file in '/Users/benjamin/Desktop/'
called my_image.png
If that does not work you can take a look at:
http://www.pymolwiki.org/index.php/Hash_max
You will need to set the hash_max to a lower number, this will mean that the
ray tracing and saving of the image will take a bit longer. Then you run the
script you just made.

I am writing with regard to a problem I am having with my Pymol Student
License. I need to make a photo of my protein molecule to my thesis, but when I
use the command "ray" it begins to process the image and a few seconds
after Pymol crashes. I know that my license is only a student license, but I
will be very grateful if you could help me with my problem. I use Pymol version
1.3 and Windows 7 64 bits Professional with the last updates.
