Yes, the httpd.conf file is being regenerated each time the tool is run, but there HAS to be a file somewhere where the tool keeps track of the changes.

Also you may want to take a look at the Webmin (www.webmin.com) app for
editing your config.  It atleast parses your current file and then
writes the changes you made back.
     I may try that at some point.  I've used it before for samba.
