This is not always the case. I have trouble with sound syncing on all
dvd playback with MPlayer and not so with xine, xine has a much more
sophisticated metronome system just for this reason. I might add that I
have an awe 64 gold sound card (that I'm not parting with) that is
limited to 44100hz and most all dvd is 48000hz thus sound needs to be
resampled and resynced for my hardware. MPlayer soes resample if you
pass it a command line parameter, but then in the gui it gets disabled
again, and it doesn't resync.
