i have done a clean install of rhl 8.0 i have from an older download: mplayer-0.9.0pre4-1.i686.rpm mplayer-font-iso1-1.0-1.noarch.rpm mplayer-font-iso2-1.0-1.noarch.rpm mplayer-font-koi8r-1.0-1.noarch.rpm mplayer-vidix-0.90pre4-1.i686.rpm i have all the files in a folder rpm -Uvh /path/to/mplayer* mplayer -vo x11 /path/to/video.file no problems i am not sure, but you need at least mplayer and one font www.mplayerhq.hu -- shrek-m
