This got me thinking, knowing that I have a USB port on my router, that I could hook up an external drive and use it as a network storage device.
Does your router have the rectangular port, or the square port? The port on my router is the square type, and all of the drives/cables I have found would not allow me to connect a drive to that kind of connector, and I haven't found a proper adapter. This is something I've been planning on doing, but I wasn't looking forward to having a computer all the time to do it. Connecting an external drive to my router would be a terrific solution!
