That should read, "Linksys". LOL So far as a solution to replace my
FVG318 router, I'm considering:

1) Cisco RV082, (eg
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9926/index.html ).

Pros: It has lots of features and probably has a much stronger/faster
cpu than a cheaper router.

Cons: It doesn't have wireless, but I suppose I could connect my
Linksys to one of its ports for wireless connections, should the need
arise. It doesn't support gigabyte. It would be more complex and take
longer to setup/program/maintain.

2) Keep my old Linksys WRT54GSV4 router and buy a gigabyte switch, (eg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124020 ). I
have cat 6 running off my mediaserver and PS3, and both have gigabyte
RJ45 10/100/1000 ports. I would connect the switch to one of the ports
on my WRT54 router.

Pros: This would be a cheap solution.

Cons: I wouldn't get the features and better computer hardware built
into the Cisco RV082.

3) Go with a cheap simple solution like:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124022&cm_re=linksys_8_port-_-33-124-022-_-Product

4) I still need to look into the Draytek routers.

The ideal solution with be a gigabyte router with good hardware,
including a strong cpu, wireless, at least 8 gigabit ports, good
software with lots of features, and a workable GUI.

LelandJ
