There have a number of threads related to this subject, including at least 1 started by myself I need to ask again in the hope someone can assist me.
One of my apps imports spreadsheet data. It has done so for many years. Something happened with the spreadsheet. It's not a simple spreadsheet As far as I know, it is maintained by Excel 2003 My import routine now throws an exception error on the newer spreadsheets Anyway, I thought the answer would be to try the Craig Boyd import routine. It's the most amazing picce of source code I've ever laid eyes on. And it works a treat on my laptop BUT, it doesn't work at my clients site Nor does it work on my own Server (2003) It fails in basically one area There are 180 columns in the spreadsheet Column 7 references Stock Code A stock code may be alpha "ABCD" or alpha numeric "ABC123" or numeric "123456" There may be 200 Rows If the cell is alpha or alphanumeric, all is fine. But if comes across a numeric cell, it treats it as blank Column 8 only references numeric data. It leaves it blank at all times. The column next to is also numeric, its blank Column 1 is also only numeric data. It imports this fine Bottom line. If no-one else here can help, does anyone know if I can approach Craig Boyd? -- Regards and desperate Sytze de Boer Kiss Systems --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
