Alternatively you can work with the Excel ODBC drivers and remote data
techniques in VFP.

Technically it has nothing to do with the "end of the road" syndrome..."
since Office 2007 was developed a long time before VFP 9 was released and
the official announcement. Microsoft removed the interaction with DBFs and
never incorporated the new Office formats in the VFP Import/Export.
Fortunately smart people like Craig have tools to work around it.
