>> I have a large customer who prepares data in Excel, which my system then imports. This worked fine till they had some users who used Office 2007<<
Our superhero Craig Boyd may have already solved this problem for you: http://www.sweetpotatosoftware.com/spsblog/2008/09/30/UsingExcel2007FileForm atsInVFP90.aspx or shortened: http://is.gd/dLlKZ Alternatively you can work with the Excel ODBC drivers and remote data techniques in VFP. Technically it has nothing to do with the "end of the road" syndrome..." since Office 2007 was developed a long time before VFP 9 was released and the official announcement. Microsoft removed the interaction with DBFs and never incorporated the new Office formats in the VFP Import/Export. Fortunately smart people like Craig have tools to work around it.
