Al, Firstly I'd look at a machine that could easily support virtualisation like VMWare as the data and security restoration problems as well as hardware changes in the future become redundant. You can use the VMWare free versions which are more than adequate to run 2 or 3 virtual servers if required or envisaged. That way you can mix and match operating systems and security is simple.
In these cases the old axim power and memory is king hold true and 4 core with lots of Ram with 64 bit OS would be the way to go. The best thing is that it makes your system completely independent of the hardware hosting it. Thanks Pete Al -----Original Message----- If you have to use M$, why not have a look at what M$ themselves are using for a similar sized system? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb905370%28office.14%29.aspx#BKMK _hw_reqs [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
