Guys, As another added spanner in the works or "option", take a look at www.Crossloop.com it is based on VNC and handles firewalls as per LMI - easily. It is totally free apart from if you want to personalise it or offer yourself as a "helpdesk" to the greater Crossloop community. If you do, then they can sort out automatic billing if you want. I use the free version as in free to anyone, commercial or private. There are many options with the basic system requiring the client to allow you access to their machine as per VNC but it has a nice shell and easy user interface.
