My systems "log" usage.  In fact, my EULA states that usage is monitored,
and if you owe money to MBSS over 60 days old, you lose your right to
continue using MBSS software, and the usage log information can be used to
enforce this.  I added this after that f*cker back in 2004 thought he
could screw me over.  Against advice here, I "turned out the lights" on
his software and basically sued him and won.  Well, he paid me before we
had our court date.  I consider that a win.
