I'm not really pointing to the Buffalo / Vista connection here.  I
understand that Buffalo has a network API that Vista may not work with
out of the gate, but to require a user to have to go to the registry to
fix it is pretty scary.  Especially when changing the setting of
"LMCompatibilityLevel" from 3 to 1.  I'm not really clear what "3" means
and I'm not really sure what "1" means either.  It worked though.

A change to a config file is preferable to a change in the registry.
Just something that I didn't like about having to do in Vista (this
works out of the box with XP) and so I labelled it "unfortunate" as
opposed to "fail".  {grin}
