Yikes they want it both ways. I understood that OEM software was to go with a PC or bit of hardware. So it should stay with that hardware. Well you would have thought so anyway. I can understand Linux on a machine that just does word processing or access the internet. My bite was pushing Linux on a list that is VFP. Most home computers could easily survive in Linux. But for those of us programming in VFP or .net its not an option. Allen
-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pete Theisen In *2003* the Great Satan wanted to charge us $40 grand that we didn't have for Windows 98 and "charity" hardware. They said we *couldn't* use Win 95 on hardware that had been already donated to us by local businesses because, well, just because! When I bought a notebook for myself shortly after that I loaded Linux in beside XP and forgot all about Windows most of the time. Now Windows isn't even on my machine, not even in VM. -- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
