Steve, You can do the whole thing via automation and I think you will be better off than trying to control the "Merge" wizards etc.
What I did was to put placeholders in the document for fields e.g. <<FIELDNAME>> and <<TABLE>> for tables and saved this as a template document. Using Automation I then found these placeholders and replaced the text with actual data - in a similar way to mailmerge. This was the best solution even though I originally tried to use the Bookmarks feature - don't bother it doesn't work properly!. Having found the table (which only needs to have one row in the template document), you can then populate it populated it with data. Then you can easily extend the table automatically by sending a TAB whilst placed in the in the last cell of the last column. If you do this, the table is extended by one row. In essence I bypassed the merge option completely and did the whole lot via automation. The application was for producing contracts which had dynamic amounts of data in and it worked fine - still is as far as I know. It turned out less trouble to do it all via automation than to use mailmerge as controlling the mailmerge via automation is a problem between office XP, Office 2K3 and Office 2K which all have varying methods/properties for Mailmerge which is a real pain. Microsoft consistency strikes again. I can drag out the code to do this over the weekend if you want. Hi Steve, I've just tried this and you're right, rows cannot have borders. -- Paul [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
