We have DSL in the business office and cable internet for the home. The only time I've had both down is when some drunk took out the pole across the street. And then my dialup would have been down, too. I'm not sure I see the value of $120/year in a rare-as-hen's-teeth occurrence. Both the DSL and the cable have been close to five-nines reliability. The lights go out maybe once a month (especially with thunderstorms this year!) but everything's on UPSes, knock wood, and our longest downtime wasn't half-an-hour. It's a lot more likely I'll mess something up and have someone on the leafe forums point out my site is down :) Can you use your cell as a modem? That gets rid of the telephone dependency. Might be expensive when you need it, but in the long run no more so than a $10 a month service you never use... For me, an extended downtime and urgent client needs would be a good excuse to drive into town to a coffee shop with wifi ;) -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
