After over 10 years of using Earthlink once as a dialup ISP, later as an
on-the-road and backup connection, I finally closed the account late last
year. And I am now thinking I may have made an error. I used to be able to
use the Earthlink account's eMail specs and my UserID/Password to set up
eMail alerts from various firewall devices and backup software. I cut all
that over to another ISP's info. But that ISP has lately begun to require
me to use authentication for outbound eMails, and some of the firewalls do
not support that feature. So I am considering looking at another dial-up
ISP (likely not Earthlink $$) to correct that. It is not a major issue, but
I prefer to know if anything is going on with a problem before anyone else
knows. It is part of how I have been able to attain Hero Status with
several clients of mine <g>.

That said, I always found Earthlink to be reliable.
