I think it is just the standard disclaimer, as almost all motherboard will run Linux or Windows 2000. Below is a link to a similar motherboard on mwave.com. The following comments are from the reviews:
a) The only (minor) problem I have is that at boot time, I have to add the noapic parameter to the kernel otherwise it will panic (this is a Linux related issue only as pointed out by another review here). Other than that, I'm extremely happy with this board! b) *Strengths:* 2 PCI(E) slots for SLI, Max of 8GB Ram, 6 SATA ports, Digital Onbaord Audio, Great Linux support, 8 USB Ports. http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA22828 c) *Strengths:* 6 SATA-II and one external SATA-II. SLI is great with my dual MSI-7600GT video cards, 8GB RAM support, onboard digital audio with SPDIF and Optical audio out., 6 USB, Dual Gbit LAN. So far as the SLI and video cards are concerned, if the BIOS recognizes them, you should be good to go. The hardware chips are designed to just get in there and work, so its not driven by OS or software. If you paired the board with a PHENOM X4, (eq quad core), 9850 2.5G CPU for $235.00, you would have a very capable desktop system. http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA22828 http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewproduct.asp?PID=CPU-PHENOM&updepts=CPU&DNAME=Processors+%2D+CPU or http://tinyurl.com/5nyyv3 Regards, LelandJ Ken Dibble wrote: >> http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/wishlist/wishlist.asp?WishId=48B28B1D-8088-4333-A312-501EE395BEBA&&SRCCODE=WEBWISH >> > > Thanks Mike. > > EVGA GeForce 9800 GX2 > > Interesting video card.
