I think you're presuming a scarcity of developments that help us bridge these obstacles, not the least of which is current commodity priced hardware + Moore's law, which makes it possible even today to supply hardware as a relatively minor component of a software product, not to mention VM's involvement with possible solutions. And there are people, some we're likely not aware of, who will give us better options then we have today. Best example I can think of is Christof, who said he's working towards VFP9 compatibility with Gineau, although he says it will take years, we've got years. There are other possibilities I'm not mindful of at the moment, and another thing I'm personally convinced of is that we'll see something along these lines from the Chinese. Then there is the possibility of a language converter. Even if it only does 80% of the job, that's a major running start. And as Linux gains more acceptance on the desktop, something good for VFP apps should materialize in that area. > We all made the mistake of sticking with FoxPro when > Microsoft acquired it.
