Well - yeah - this thread is slowing going into the Realm of the [OT] range - once we begin to Delve into Gov't issues - all because of BitCoin.

Honestly - I know VERY Little of this BitCoin stuff. I know those Brothers that are on the Other side of the FaceBook legal battle - I believe they are also proponents of BitCoin.

I have a buddy of mine who is - a VERY Techy type computer guy - who now lives in Canada - where he kinda ran off to when he was 17 (he's I think in his 30's now) - back when he was living in NYC - which is where I 1st met him - and he had only been here in the US a little while after coming here with his Mom from Russia. But, this guy - he's BIG Time into BitCoin. Says he makes money by letting some of his computers run processing for BitCoin - and there are MANY out there that do this. IS some kinda computing for encryption or something like that - and its part of the backbone of the BitCoin system. Seemed kinda interesting when he was telling me about it. Claims if I had a PC with a HI-END Video Card in it (which I do - since I do 3D CG stuff) - that THIS is what the BitCoin system could seriously make use of - and I could make money too on it. But, I never did bother...

Why can't they close down bitcoin to start with. Seeing it aids with

Well, it also aids people who want to carry out perfectly legitimate
financial transactions without the government poking its nose into them.

Like the interwebs, bitcoin can be used for Good or it can be used for Evil....

Yes, I can buy all sorts of ill gotten booty such as drugs and guns
and hookers, just as a battered housewife can arrange a security
deposit on an apartment so she can make a run for it...
