Interesting. I only need it for two things: 1. to make sure the changes I make to websites look good across all types of systems which is why I want a linux, pc, and apple. 2. I want to start going to geekdom to get some exposure for myself so that I can get back to work, and since I don't have an artistic bone in my body, I also hope to use my database skills to trade for artistic skills.
It would be much cheaper to go with a pc, but I already have a desktop pc, but I don't have an apple or linux box yet. -----Original Message----- From: ProFox [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Christof Wollenhaupt Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 6:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NF] What are you going to do with the laptop? To give you a different (Apple) view. My employees have a mac mini with an SSD drive. Smaller than a laptop and easy to carry around in a pocket. They work at multiple places, but those are always the same, so there's a monitor, keyboard and mouse at those places. It solves one of the problems of the air which is the small screen. I have customers I visit regularly. Instead of a laptop I'm taking the small iMac. All I need is a power plug and a network cord and a bit of space. Larger screen and more ergonomic than a laptop. It's a bit over 12 pounds. So heavier than a laptop, but not really a problem to carry from car to office. Price-wise it's the same as the MacBook Air and cheaper than the MacBook Pro. I only use laptops when I'm taking the train or catch a flight. -- Christof --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
