Beyond this list's interests VFP I think that M$ has gotten a plan and
a target that they have failed to have for the past 10 years.

The developer core out there is focused on HTML5. The .NET product
line, Visual Studio 2012, is capable to run with where the plan is
cast for the next two years.

My son has a Windows phone because he left his droid on a sink, dumb
ass. So I got the cheapest thing and Win was it. He said he is
really surprised at how well it works. He has a good friend who is
the campus Apple rep and they put the phones against one another and
Win phone is pretty solid. The core apps that are available are
growing, not near as fast nor vast as the App store, but they are
increasing all the time.

This new model for generating software for the devices is what M$ had
a hard time doing in the first place. I know that they are interested
in having devs like myself make new tiny apps. I hear it from our
local M$ evangelist all the time.

The focus that M$ is pushing nowadays is no longer just the Office and
Business. They are now focusing on the rest of your life and will
figure out how to extract secondary revenue out of it much like FB. I
really see that the older M$ is evolving under that hard outer crust
you remember.
