Yep. I inventoried my WinXP box and was amazed at how much paid
software - at $29 and $39 and $49 - I had on there.
But you didn't mention the technical part of the decision. What
reasons pro/con would you list for CentOS? I ask because I'm thinking
of upgrading my server soon, and this is one candidate.
One of our development boxes is CentOS and I couldn't be more pleased
with it. Rock solid. And I'm willing to pick up support for it myself
when RH want $400 a year or so for support. So, CentOS, SuSE and
possibly Ubuntu are fine from a technical perspective. It was Fedora I
eliminated, along with thousands of other distros, because of the
long-term stability issues.
