With *this* particular list it is no problem, as before the transition the list retained the original From: header and did not add Reply-To: at all, so if you used the ordinary "reply" function in your MUA, you were replying directly to the author and not to the list. So we all probably have long ago got used to using "reply to list" instead of ordinary "reply" when replying to messages on *this* list. With changing From: to point to the list itself and adding Reply-To: pointing to the author this behaviour hasn't changed.
