I did that on my old server, where I had only POP access (I don't remember
anymore what software did I use for POP server, it was many years ago). Now
I have Dovecot configured to access the Maildirs in home directories, so I
don't need to resend mail to a separate account. Yes, "mail_location =
maildir:~/Maildir" in Dovecot configuration does it.
